Your 2-Sled Snow Trailer Buying Guide

White aluminum crossover snow trailer with two sleds unloaded and ready to ride.

Snowmobile season is just around the corner, and if you still need a sled trailer, now's the time to buy! A trailer for two snowmobiles is a popular choice -- you can always bring a friend along to enjoy the great outdoors with room for two sleds!

Discover the perfect hauler with ALCOM's open and enclosed two-place snowmobile trailer options. Our all-aluminum haulers are built to last for winters to come. Finding the right ride for your sleds is all about the perfect balance between size, options, and features. So let's take a look!

Open or Enclosed Trailer?

The first question you should answer is whether you want an open aluminum snow trailer, or an enclosed one. Which type of trailer will you choose? Budget, standard features, other stuff you need to haul, and which vehicle you'll be towing behind, all play a part. Check out our open-vs.-enclosed snowmobile trailer buying guide; we break down the benefits and limitations of each trailer type.

Open Two-Sled Options

Travel ultra-light with a sport deck. Designed to transport up to two snowmobiles in the bed of a pickup truck, the sport deck mounts in most trucks and includes telescoping ramps for safe loading and unloading.

If you plan to tow, though, check out ALCOM's open hauling options. For the ramp-free loading and unloading, try a tilting two-place trailer.  Torsion ride suspension, 5/8" pressure treated decking, ski tie-down bars and an anti-rattle tilt system make this nimble trailer an easy choice for two sleds. A tilting drive-on, drive-off model includes a front salt shield that keeps road spray from coating your snowmobiles and doubles as a front ramp.

Prefer a stationary trailer deck for your open hauler? Choose an open drive-on/off model with a 101" wide deck and available in 12' to 24' long. For two sleds, a 12' to 14' deck should offer plenty of space! It features stowaway rear ramps and a convertible front salt shield that flips down for use as a front drive-off ramp.

With an open aluminum snowmobile trailer from ALCOM, you get lightweight hauling that's built to withstand the elements and resist rust for the long haul.

Enclosed Two-Place Trailers

Maybe you're ready to upgrade from an open trailer to something that really shields your sleds from every element along the way. ALCOM has a huge lineup of enclosed snow trailers, most of which easily accommodate two -- or more! -- snowmobiles.

Don't forget to measure your machines (or check the manufacturer's site for specs!) to ensure you're planning for enough room inside the trailer. Most snowmobiles are around 9 to 11 feet long and between 40" and 50" wide, but each machine is different and some specialty models may fall outside of the averages listed here. Once you know how much space you need, it's time to scope out the ALCOM options.

Whichever trailer you choose, there's a full array of upgrade options available to personalize your ride. Get ski guides, track mats, insulated walls, extra tie-downs, electrical upgrades and so much more.

For a low-profile, lighter tow, check out a crossover model. They're so light, many SUVs can haul them, and so versatile, you'll spot them pulling double duty hauling bikes or camping gear during summer months! You get ALCOM's trusty all-aluminum, all-welded construction, and standard interior features including a dome light, 5/8" water resistant decking, and slide track with ski tie-downs or D-rings for securing machines.

Need a little more headroom? We have that, too. Check out the rest of the enclosed lineup! One of our favorites? The inline snow trailer. It's like a Pez dispenser for your snowmobiles! Drive snow machines in through the rear ramp door, then open the front ramp door when it's time to ride. Drive out, and you'll be carving fresh tracks in no time.

For a lux ride for two sleds, choose an enclosed model with some lights, outlets, and maybe even a heater to warm things up while you pull off your boots on a padded bench at the end of the day. Don't forget to choose your favorite exterior siding color for your trailer! With classic options like black, white, and metallic pewter, or bold choices like yellow, safety orange and victory red, you'll always stand out on the road.

Aluminum Quality Comes Standard

Every ALCOM snowmobile trailer is built with our standard all-welded, all-aluminum construction. Every detail is chosen for ideal snowmobile hauling, like Caliber track mats and paddle grabbers on trailer ramps, and ski tie-down bars. Slide track with adjustable placement for D-rings makes it easy to customize your tie-down points. For enclosed models, finishing touches like wall- or ceiling-mounted coat hooks make your ride even sweeter. No matter which ALCOM trailer you choose, you can count on your investment.
