Triton Trailers is one of North America’s oldest and most trusted aluminum trailer manufacturers. Founded in 1975, Triton turns 50 years old in 2025! We’re celebrating by continuing to build some of the lightest, most durable, and most versatile open and enclosed aluminum trailers on the road today. Triton builds trailers for personal watercraft, ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, cars, kayaks, cargo, and of course: snowmobiles. With winter weather closing in on the northern parts of North America, snowmobile season is on everyone’s mind. If you’re in the market for a new snowmobile trailer, take a look at why Triton Trailers is one of the most trusted names in the game!
The Triton Trailers Story
Building a reputation for rugged, dependable snowmobile trailers with some of the best features available doesn’t just happen. It takes experience and practice to get things right. It requires learning from each success and failure, incorporating customer feedback into product development to meet the needs and exceed the wishes of the people using the trailers.
Triton Trailers has been doing that since 1975, when John Reiser and Bob Peisch formed a boat lift manufacturing company in John’s garage. Triton outgrew the garage quickly, and by 1976, the company moved to a plant in Allenton, Wisconsin. In the 1970s, Triton manufactured more than trailers, offering storefront canopies, farm gates, wood-burning furnaces, and miscellaneous job shop work. For two decades, Triton grew and refined its operation. In 1995, Triton had outgrown its Allenton facility and moved to Hartford, Wisconsin. With 190,000 square feet of manufacturing space, Triton continued to grow under the leadership of John’s daughter and son-in-law, Rochelle and Tony. In early 2013, Jacsten Holdings acquired Triton Trailers, and in November 2021, Triton officially joined the ALCOM family.
Now, Triton’s legendary trailers are available with the industry’s best lead times and deepest product catalog under the ALCOM umbrella. With multiple manufacturing sites and an extensive North American dealer network, Triton Trailers are available anywhere you want to go snowmobiling.
Designed by Snowmobilers
Our snowmobile trailers are built with snowmobile riders’ feedback, requests, and design suggestions in mind. What’s important to snowmobilers in the USA and Canada? Think about your top priorities in a trailer that’s busy all winter long. It needs to be water-resistant, with components that won’t rust or rot if a little snow melts on them. It needs to be light and well balanced for a smooth, safe tow in variable conditions – and if it’s big enough, it needs brakes. LED lights that are sealed against water penetration and last longer than old-school bulbs are important, too. A solid ramp for loading and unloading snowmobiles; maybe a side access door for an enclosed trailer, and a dedicated fuel access door to fill up on the go. What about a generator package and a built-in heating system? Get all the features a snowmobiler needs and all the upgrades you want when you choose Triton Trailers aluminum sled haulers. From ski guides and track mats to a full range of tie-down options, a heated boot box, and coat hooks, Triton Trailers has snowmobile-specific options to make your ride better than ever.
Continuous Innovation
Remember how Triton got started as a boat lift manufacturer, operating out of a co-founder’s garage? Over the past five decades, the company’s focus narrowed in on crafting top-quality aluminum trailers for a variety of power sports and utility needs. Triton has spent years creating trailers for personal watercraft, kayaks, snowmobiles and more – then listening to their customers’ feedback and doing it better the next time. Our product line has been continuously updated and improved with new designs, features, and materials. We’re always on the lookout for ways to build a better toy hauler!
Quality Materials & Construction
Aluminum doesn’t rust, so that’s what we use to build Triton Trailers. Aluminum lighter than steel and tough enough to haul sleds and so much more. Weight savings in the trailer build means better payload and fuel efficiency; plus, it enables more vehicles to tow an all-aluminum Triton snowmobile trailer. If you don’t have a full-size truck, it isn’t an issue when you choose a lightweight open sled hauler.
For snowmobilers who want to buy an American-made trailer to move their gear, Triton has a lineup of options for any size tow vehicle. Every Triton Trailers sled hauler is built in the USA and there’s an option for every North American snowmobiler! Check out a few of our favorite models:
- Triton NXT Series: Enclosed cargo/snowmobile combo trailers designed for multi-season duty, built with all-welded aluminum, and available in a wide range of sizes.
-
Triton TC Series: A year-round enclosed crossover-style trailer perfect for snowmobiles in the winter and ATVs, lawnmowers, or dump runs during the rest of the year.
- Triton Elite Series: An open aluminum snowmobile trailer for two to four sleds pairs snowmobile tie-down bars with a water-resistant deck that’s ready for year-round hauling.
