Side by sides on an off-roading trail in Maine

ALCOM's home state, Maine, is a great place to tow your ATV trailer for an off-roading adventure

Thanks to huge stretches of wilderness and an enthusiastic outdoor community, there is a rich network of ATV trails in Maine to explore, whether you prefer a calm, flat cruise - or a rough and rocky scramble.

There's no better way to start your adventure than loading up and hitching on your aluminum side-by-side trailer from ALCOM. They're designed to be light, nimble, rugged and dependable for years of happy trails. Whether you choose an open model with multi-purpose side panel ramp/rails, or an enclosed trailer that can be outfitted however you like with cabinets and more, ALCOM has the trailers to get you and your UTVs and ATVs to the trailhead. Even if you just need a UTV rack for your pickup truck!

And there are so many miles of off-roading trails to explore in Maine. Local ATV clubs take great pride in maintaining trails and making sure that everyone can get out and have a great time off-roading. This includes trail maintenance and updates, and working with landowners. Wherever you ride, be sure to check the local laws, ordinances, and respect all posted signs and rules.

Aroostook VALLEY TRAIL

Visit "The County" - Aroostook County, that is, Maine's largest and most northern county - and hit the trails! With over 1300 miles of marked ATV trails and gorgeous scenery that showcases rivers, mountains and forests, Aroostook County is an ideal ATV destination. Since many of the trails connect to one another, you can explore this region on your side-by-side. The Aroostook Valley Trail, a 28-mile multi-use trail, connects the towns of Caribou, Presque Isle, New Sweden, Washburn, and Woodland.

BANGOR AND AROOSTOOK TRAIL

Want to spot a moose on your side-by-side excursion in The County? Try the 63-mile Bangor and Aroostook Trail! Small towns throughout the region are ready to welcome you with local places to eat, refuel, and get some rest for your next day of ATV adventure. So if you're looking for a remote backcountry side-by-side trip in Maine's northern wilderness, load up the aluminum ATV trailer and head to The County

Mt. Blue State Park & Nearby Trails

Want to push your limits? Visit Rocky Mountain Terrain Park in Carthage for adrenaline-pumping four-wheeling fun. Head to nearby Mt. Blue State Park - also a great place to camp - and explore the trails. Take your ATV on the Park Headquarters Trail to Hedgehog Mountain. While you're in the area, don't miss a visit to Webb Lake - and plan to hike Tumbledown Mountain if you're ready for some on-foot adventure.

The Moose Trail

In Franklin County, don't miss The Moose Trail. With seven ATV clubs participating in its maintenance and over 130 miles of trails connecting towns like Kingfield, Carrabassett Valley, and Eustis, The Moose Trail is a great option for folks who enjoy mountains, lakes and small-town Maine stops. If you enjoy skiing at Sugarloaf during the winter, why not explore the same region on side-by-side during the warmer months? On the Rangeley side of the trail network, check out the beautiful drive up Quill Hill for breathtaking views of the area.

Jugtown Forest Trail

In Cumberland County, with trailheads in both Casco and Naples, the Hancock Land Company (Hancock Lumber) has developed Jughead Forest. In this working forest, logging vehicles always have the right-of-way, but ATVs and side-by-sides are welcome to enjoy the publicly accessible forest. The trails are marked, and a map and rules are available online. If you're headed to Sebago Lake this summer, hitch up the aluminum UTV trailer and bring your four-wheelers along for some off-road fun!
